A Little Bit About Me & Ankylosing Spondylitis
Hello my name is Sam and I have Ankylosing spondylitis, I have had it since I was 16? I think. I am now 34. I have active disease, that dreaded gene, and also a family history of it.
However, I do not take medication and it causes me little to no problems. Twice / three times a year I will flare up, and sometimes I feel it creeping in but I have found a way to manage it.
I put my success down to working out, and sticking at it and stress management. I can't express how VITAL staying active is. I would be a state without it.
I can train as much as I like (within reason), climb mountains such as Mt Blanc and competed in Brazilian Jujitsu. I own a gym with 600 members and a Sports Massage room.
Look - I'm not bragging but it's important you understand how much keeping fit has kept this awful disease and I really want others to see the benefits. It makes me sad when I read about people not even attempting the gym or home workouts due to fear.
